Fresh Start
New house, new ‘hood, new everything…
It was a fantastic weekend with so many friends visiting for Boo’s bday. Favorite memories include: Boo’s bedroom speech, the “Kevin” chant (twice), the dance-off in Miller’s room, and of course watching Bundy and Andrew rip Dustin’s v-neck off.
I feel like everything has fallen into place finally. It has...
Fridays.
This morning I woke up in a wonderful mood, in a really warm and comfy bed. I celebrated Friday with Steph by doing our typical Friday morning dance. My bus ride to work was free. A ton of my friends from school are on their way to the city for the weekend (Happy Birthday Boo!). I have a lunch date with my favorites. Steph and I are signing a new apartment lease tomorrow (!!!!). And I only...
Giving Thanks - Southern Style
The Allison’s are heading to South Carolina for Thanksgiving! My Mother is thrilled, and has apparently started putting together an itinerary for our trip. I got an email from Julz (sis-in-law) listing all of the things she was excited to do with me. It made me smile, so hopefully it makes you smile too:
Julz:
1) Make Pie 2) Eat midnight turkey cranberry mash potato sandwiches on rolls...
Teddy Bears
Won't you call my private number?
We can go away for the summer
We can drive around with the top down
Stereo turned up loud with a fat sound
Cause I'm yours to keep if you want to...

Happy Thoughts
In the last two months, I….
Wished Stephanie a Happy 23rd birthday
Spent time with my amazing friends from Sevilla
Let it all out at my (now) sister-in-law’s bachelorette party
Tore up the dance floor with Kevin
Reunited with my best friend
Found happiness and new friends in Lake Tahoe
Did the robot at my brother’s wedding
Made more unforgettable memories...
Just a Thought...
It’s funny how doing something out of character can make you feel like yourself again.
It’s like a jump start in the opposite direction, which in the end turns out to be the right direction.
It’s something that reminds you of what you don’t usually do. Something that reminds you of what you want to do better with your life.
So all of you little mistakes, thank you for...

Like Mother, Like Daughter
On Wednesday morning I left for work with a huge smile on my face. I got in my car and began my short trip to the Presidio, loving the sunlight and daydreaming about plenty of things. Then suddenly my car began to slow down, and I realized… I really needed gas. Oops.
After an embarrassing call to AAA for roadside assistance I decided I needed to share this little incident with...

Sigh.
You know those days where you would do anything to stay in bed… all day? So you can have time to think and explore your thoughts and make peace with yourself before you have to get up and face the world?
Yea. It’s one of those days.
My Favorite Poem
After a while you learn, The subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul. And you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning, And company doesn’t always mean security. And you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts, And presents aren’t promises. And you begin to accept your defeats, With your head up and your eyes ahead, With the grace of a woman,...
Feel-good Lyrics
I’ll follow you into the park, Through the jungle through the dark, Girl I never loved one like you. Moats and boats and waterfalls, Alley-ways and pay phone calls, I’ve been everywhere with you. We laugh until we think we’ll die, Barefoot on a summer night Nothin’ new is sweeter than with you And in the streets you run afree, Like it’s only you and me, Geeze, you’re...

Hi Valentine
Valentine’s Day can be hard for the ones with fresh heartache. But not for this girl. Sure I thought about the past a lot today, but only good memories that made me happy. I have been lucky enough to feel what I have felt, to have experienced life with another. And for that, I still have something to celebrate today.
“Happy is the heart that still feels pain Darkness drains and...
'Tis the Busy Season...
Busy Season, you can’t take over my life. I know you make me work 11 hours a day and by the time I get home you think I will be so exhausted that I won’t do anything with my life…. But you’re wrong!
I have something planned to do every single night this week after work, no matter how late it may be.
So there.

Rainbow Snow
I saw this today on Color Me Katie and of course become instantly obsessed. Who knew that spray bottles, food coloring and an artistic mind could make such a difference. I love her blog - she can make anything and everything into some sort of beautiful work of art. Even something as white as snow.
PTO = Booked!
Yes that’s right everyone, I am giving myself a vacation in June! Not only does the trip fall on my 23rd birthday, but it is going to be spent with my most amazing friends. We don’t have a set destination yet, but wherever we find ourselves I am completely confident we will have all the fun in the world. Like always.
The world is at our fingertips.

Break-ups are Expensive
After being with the same person for over three years, it was painfully difficult to carry on with my life after we went our separate ways a little over a month ago. Everything I did no longer included my other half as usual… it made my world feel so unfamiliar. I know that everyone copes with these kinds of things differently. Many people pick up a new habit, such as painting or...
Sundays are for Friends
Any friend who finds their way to my house on Sundays is guaranteed a scrumptious meal. Mom’s french toast and Barefoot Contessa’s maple roasted bacon is enough to bring a smile to anyone’s face.
Jelly Bean or Smelly Bean?
On Sunday night Steph and I had some of our favorites over for dinner (we are trying to make this a weekly ritual). After enjoying homemade stew with dumplings, we broke out a box of Bertie Bott’s Jelly Beans. The catch: Some of the beans were the regular yummy flavors, and some were the “I think I just threw up in my mouth a little” flavors, and they looked identical. So of...
Smores Kits!
My mouth started watering when I spotted these on You Are My Fave. Smores hold a special place in my heart, as they should in everyone’s. In fact, I could really use a smore right now. Sitting around a fire and eating gooey marshmellows and melted chocolate sounds so much more appealing than the 35th floor of an office building. At least I have a window?
It's Complicated
While I was browsing A Cup of Jo I came across a post about this movie. I have watched the trailer twice already and I am so excited to see it! I looks like something that anyone can enjoy… I mean, Steve Martin and Meryl Streep smoking a joint? What more could you be looking for! And let’s not lie ladies, looking at John Krasinski for a couple of hours doesn’t sound so bad...
Scaredy Corn →
Considering my obsession with candy corn, I was intrigued when I stumbled across this wonderful treat of a Flickr series.
Just in case anyone else needed a little humor in their day.

Pumpkin Anyone?
The cooking club officially kicked off last night at my flat with a total of 11 members, all of us being young (might I add delightful) females living in San Francisco. Since we had not all met each other before, we got acquainted over some candy corn martinis and Lo’s amazing baked brie.
Back to the candy corn martinis… Stephanie found this creative recipe somewhere and we decided...
